Brain Net blows

I confess I hated u at the start,

But by year’s end, u ruled my heart.

U were too bold, too confident

But I loved the attitude, it was heaven sent

Yup. I’ve loved you since end of freshman year

When U had a nose ring, I had long hair

Two freaks, like fire and water we mixed

We didn’t fizzle, far from it when we kissed.

Nuclear reactions, we ought to be CTBT-ed

NATOed, UN-ed, and even banned like weed

The proms, the movies, the shows, the bops

We’d have a ball till we’d tire and flop

Take the tube back, snuggle up real close

The prude in the corner would turn up his nose

Smuggle u into the dorm room late at night,

Hug, pet and stuff, then go out for a bite.

The guard at the desk would knowingly nod

I’d a make a note to cig him when he’d get off the job

Shawarmas from Edgware Road, McD’s of Oxford Street

Each night was a party, each day was a treat.

The year went by, the best time had flown

U left for your home, and I flew back alone.

Promises to stay in touch were made and made,

I tried my best to not let laziness pervade

But look at how we now have grown

I’m wrapped in a suit, we only talk on the phone

There’s email too that we can use I suppose

But its too damn slow, u know Brain Net blows

U tell me of guys u see at home

I tell u of the girls I work with

(who I wish I owned)

U say I love you to me often

I try to say it but my tongue softens

It twists and trembles

But it can tell no lie

Lover the honest truth is

It’s time we said goodbye.
