Feelings like a politician

Selling songs of freedom

Talking of ideals

But only when we need ‘em

Cuz everybody’s complainin

But no one takes a stand

I don’t know where we’re going

But follow me if you can

I hear wardrums beating

They’re lining up another war

Run and duck for cover

Don’t stand cuz you’ll fall

Innocence is wasted

When there is money to be made

That’s what they sing

As our dreams are betrayed

Failure’s not an option

And I won’t toe this line

Rub it out and push on through

I will win this time

Or I will fail in my efforts

At least an effort was made

And this song will live forever
