I am a man like that

You know in all honesty
Sharing my pain
Does not numb
Or lessen the same
For I am a man like that

And it does not come easy
To say 'Can u help me?'
And even if you offer
And even if you probe
I cannot for the life of me
Ask for your hand
For I am a man
Like that

And when u try to help me
It helps me not at all
For I have been taught
Since I was a tot
That I have to carry my load
On my own
For I am a man like that.

You know in all honesty
Honesty does not come naturally
to me
Nor does opening up
To tell u stuff
You see
I am a man like that.

You know
Lover still
I want to tell you this
And yet I find I cannot
(For this is not a poem by me)
For I am a man like that
