My sweet crusader

My sweet crusader

Setting out to cure

The world from inaction

And thoughts impure

To wipe tears clean

The foe of all evil

And people who are mean

When we were young

We tried to change the world

Each day, each night

We were up for the fight

And well as we might

For we were often right

For when we were young

We could set the world alight

My sweet crusader

Meets the world head-on

A crash soon ensues

Her flesh is torn

A wreck left behind

But this wreck is mine

To nurse back to health

By time and wealth

My sweet crusader

Carries the battle to me

She is hurt by the world

It is so clear to see

How bitter her lips are

How bitter her words

She hates my kind now

Soon she too will find me absurd.
