on the horns of a dilemma

he came back with dreams and commitment

but all of that was broken to bits

he soon came to realise

that this country is a piece of shit

and its people just do not really care

about what he sacrificed to come here

what he could have earned over there

his property has now all been stolen

his kids don’t talk to him anymore

people exploit him right, left and centre

his dollars are for them an eyesore

his education and his refined manners

are what set him here now apart

he gave his best efforts to a nation

that only turned and broke his heart.

so he thinks its now time to go back

he thinks of all the things that we lack

like decency, spirit, a will to change

doesn’t know now why, yet he still remains

something holds him back, won’t let him go

commitment, or just simply, ego

maybe this is the year all things will turn

maybe his countrymen will now come to learn

they have improve or lose

he’ll stick around for now

just in case they so choose.
