Your silence
It now tells me
That we have both be-come one
I can feel you living in my mind
Take responsibility for what you have done
You do not need to speak your mind
I understand your dreams, emotions
I can sense when you're excited
And when u're going through the motions.
Your silence speaks to me
Hits me harder than the death of trust
And your eyes they now assail me
Grind me right into dust
And your words they sound hollow
Just as your heart must feel
I stooped down to pick you up
Ended up underneath your heel
Like a spluttering cigarette I feel
With your heel, you now put me out
I can make a clamor if u want
But that is not what we are about.
Your silence is so very meaningful
It means that you've got no more to say
Used to think you went silent so as not to hurt me
But that's not where it's at today
I complain to you like you are God
You wield words these days like weapons
Do you really care about what flows from your actions?
Or do u drop lines just to see what happens?
Your silence now is deafening
Loud as the words of people around
Does it mean that you now acquiesce
Or have u just come to love the sound?
The sound of their voices, it still cuts me
Their intentions are so very clear
They would all be just so happy
If I were dead or you were not here
Your silence
